180. travel time: Rovaniemi, Finland - where the Santa Claus lives

Song of the day: Skinny Love - Bon Iver

'and I told you to be patientand I told you to be fine
and I told you to be balanced
and I told you to be kind'

Place: Rovaniemi (Arctic Circle, St. Claus Village) and Turku, Finland
Time: last weekend of November
Transport: plane + train (overnight journey)
Seen: St. Claus Village, St. Claus Park, city centers of Turku & Rovaniemi, reindeer farm, Arktikum  museum of Lapland, open air museum in Turku, Finnish sauna :-)

Hey there! It's been a while, but I always come back with new photos for you. This time a short relation from my last trip to Artctic Circle. My family decided to finally realize the long planned visit to St.Claus house and get to feel a little bit of Chrismas spirit. I decited to go with them, nevermind the age... The photo report is short, as the weather in Finland is not in favour of photogrphers - during whole day there were only something about 4 hours of light. And yes, it was cold. Very, very cold. Still, I highly recommend you to go there and visit Lapland in the Chrismas season - you can really feel the spirit there.

To start with, be careful - the elves are watching!

Ice cave in St.Claus Park, the charming lady was serving canberry vodka:

Christmas fair, gingerbread coffee, finnish squirrel (there were so many of them in the city center of Turku!) and some interesint streetart :

The most interesting and amazing think about FInland is nature - the landscapes are incredible:

Reindeer farm - in general every reindeer in Filnand has its owner. Finns care very much about their animals and they seem to be happy about it :-)
 More of landscapes:
Cathedral in Turku. To give you a hint about the weather condition in FInland I decided to compare 2 photos of the same church - the first one was taken around 10.30 and the second one no more than 1 hour later. Actually the first photo was taken on the last day of my 4-days trip and it was the first time (and only) that I saw blue sky there.

Arktikum - museum of Lapaland in Rovaniemi:
To end with something really great, open air museum in Turku :-)
